Three were killed and at least three injured in an accidental shooting at a bowling alley Saturday night in Rockford, Illinois. The local police department confirmed the case, adding that the shooting took place shortly before 7 p.m. local time.
One suspect was detained by police – a 37-year-old man, reported bg-voice.
“When the police arrived on the scene, the shooter was still in the building,” Police Chief Dan O’Shea said in a briefing.
“The police did not use their service weapons. The only suspect has been arrested, but the case is still under investigation,” he concluded.
The prosecution has been informed, the investigation continues. O’Shea also said that two teenagers were among the witnesses to what happened. The sheriff declined to elaborate on those injured or killed.
