A great tragedy hit Turkish football. Bursa player Yıldırım Spor, Jeffher Toktash, has confessed that he killed his five-year-old son, who was in the hospital with suspected coronavirus, with his own hands.
The athlete visited the boy in the hospital, after which he was found dead, and the doctors decided that the death was caused by complications due to the coronavirus. Usually the fatal end of this infection occurs after respiratory difficulties and for this reason doctors have not doubted its natural nature.
Eleven days later, Yildirim himself confessed to the police that he had killed his son by strangling him with a pillow.
“I sniffed him for 15 minutes. He was trying to get out, but I held the pillow until he died,” said Jeffher, who justified his actions with a nervous breakdown, adding that he had never loved his son. Toktash has another son. He has been arrested and awaits trial. He could be sentenced to life in prison for killing a close relative in Turkey.
