There was a serious accident between a jeep and an interurban bus carrying workers on the Botevgrad-Vratsa highway, before the fork of the town of Litakovo, announced the press center of the Interior Ministry.
According to initial data, the jeep entered oncoming traffic and collided with the bus head-on.
The driver and passenger of the jeep were killed instantly. As a result of the impact, the bus overturned on the side of the road, requiring the intervention of firefighters. The bus driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital with various injuries.
The victims were admitted to the “St. Anna” University Hospital in Sofia. They are two 54-year-old women and a 64-year-old man (who is also the driver of the crashed bus). One of the victims is in a very serious condition, with unstable hemodynamics and a real danger to life. The other two are still being diagnosed, but preliminary information is that they are not in direct danger of death, the hospital said.
This morning at 6.30 in the morning, at the Assumption of the Archangel, the signal of the serious incident was given. The bus was returning the night shift workers from the Botevgrad factories.
A bypass route has been built – in the direction of Vratsa – the villages of Gurkovo, Rashkovo, Lyuti dol, Rebarkovo; in the direction of Sofia – Rebarkovo, Svoge, Vlado Trichkov, Novi Iskar. In Rebarkovo there are RU-Mezdra teams, which regulate traffic and monitor compliance with the ring road.
