A woman died in a serious accident that occurred this morning in the Sevlievo region at the crossroads of the village of Dobromirka. Police teams are redirecting traffic from Veliko Tarnovo to Sofia via Gabrovo because of, announced the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Veliko Tarnovo.
“Two cars collided. One person died and another was injured,” Gabrovo police told Dir.bg.
Due to the serious accident that occurred this morning, the road to Sevlievo is closed.
The accident occurred around 8 hours and 30 minutes. For unknown reasons, a car entered the opposite lane and collided with a patrol car of a private security system.
The elderly driver of the other car was injured in the accident. The woman who was traveling with her died on the spot.
In order not to form “traffic jams”, police teams provide assistance in the exit from Veliko Tarnovo to Sofia and redirect cars on a ring road.
“The prosecution teams are also waiting at the scene. An investigation is under way at the scene of the incident,” police added.
Traffic on the Veliko Tarnovo-Sofia highway has already normalized, announced the police press center in Veliko Tarnovo.
