Some time ago, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers, we adopted Bulgaria’s national vaccination plan against covid-19. This was stated by Health Minister Kostadin Angelov at a special press conference today.
“The national vaccination plan against COVID-19 was developed by a working group according to an order with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Health, regional health inspectorates, prominent medical specialists, the Bulgarian Medical Union and others,” Angelov said.
“The plan is in line with the peculiarities of Bulgarian health, territory and infrastructure. The plan is dynamic, ready for an appropriate change, depending on the specific situation,” said the minister.
“The plan presents an overview of vaccines under development. Permits for the use of a COVID-19 vaccine are described as a procedure. We are setting up a national vaccination headquarters chaired by Professor Krassimir Gigov, as announced,” he said.
Stages:
Phase 1: medical staff and specialists
Phase 2: teachers, staff and users of various social institutions
Phase 3: employees involved in maintaining basic activities for society – plumbing, for example
Phase 4: Adults 65 years and older and people with chronic diseases
Phase 5: vulnerable groups of the population related to their living conditions and way of life
Vaccination will be voluntary.
