Bulgaria allowed flights from Great Britain, but ticket prices are triple and our compatriots are furious
A second dangerous mutation has been found in Britain, linked to South Africa. It has been detected in two infected people so far, said British Health Minister Matt Hancock. He called on anyone who has traveled to South Africa in the past two weeks or has been in contact with such a person to be immediately quarantined. Hancock explained that so far there is no evidence that the Pfizer vaccine used in the country does not work against him.
Although France opened its borders on Wednesday to UK travelers with regular ferry lines, the crisis with more than 10,000 lanes blocked around British ports is deepening. The reason is that Paris forces drivers to take negative tests in the last 72 hours, and most of those blocked cannot get out of the traffic jam to reach the laboratories of neighboring cities. on site, but even if they reach their maximum capacity of 6,000 tested daily, it will take days to control the situation.
Tensions rose further several times after police passing trucks suspected that some of the test certificates presented by the drivers were false. There were clashes between uniformed men and citizens and attempts to storm the border crossings.
Angry that they would not be allowed to go, the drivers broke down fences and blocked roads shouting “Open the border.” The British Road Transport Association said congestion will continue until at least December 26. This means that dozens of people will celebrate Christmas on the road.
Dozens of Bulgarians remain in the blockade, including families with young children. Our compatriots on the island started an organization to support them. It was started by Bulgarians living in the Dover area, who offer to provide them with food and shelter if they do not have the opportunity to continue through Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, the Bulgarian government has allowed the resumption of flights to and from Britain, which it banned only three days ago until January 31 due to the more infected new strain found on the island. Arrivals will be screened for antigen and quarantined for 10 days, and those arriving after January 1 will be required to take a negative urinalysis 72 hours before travel.
The Bulgarian embassy in London is making a list of the Bulgarians who were left without funds or shelter to help them return home with Bulgaria Air. The first 50 will take off from London on Thursday night.
The resumption of flights was not unequivocally accepted by our compatriots, as the prices of air tickets tripled and reached those of flights to New York and Bali from the British capital. The reason is that the demand is high from people who have suffered from their sudden stop in Sofia on Sunday. In the networks appeared and the black humor that

so the tabloids write that she can stay in Bulgaria for Christmas, after the flights were stopped while the singer recorded her new video in Buzludzha.
Authorities say the number of infected is also increasing in the northern part of the island, requiring millions more to be subjected to the strictest restrictions from December 26.
