The Kremlin called the US sanctions against Russia’s Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline a “cowboy attack,” TASS reported.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the US sanctions against the pipeline “a completely undisguised cowboy attack.” Peskov noted that work on the pipeline continues methodically and is nearing “project completion.”

Putin’s spokesman said Russia existed in a “hostile and even hostile environment” and had faced sanctions over the past year. Peskov also commented on the information that President Vladimir Putin will be vaccinated against the coronavirus. “We have the right to expect that in the foreseeable future the president will report on the decision,” Peskov said, recalling Putin’s statement that he would be immunized.

ACTS recalls that the United States has threatened the participants in the Nord Stream-2 project with sanctions, as it believes that in this way its Western partners are economically and politically linked to Moscow. Representatives of the United States government have indicated that this project will not be implemented because through it Russia will have the influence to blackmail European countries.
