Educators, clergymen, writers, revolutionaries, writers, and artists often receive posthumous recognition. His portraits hang in institutions and classrooms. We are used to perceiving them as part of the past glory of the Homeland. The conversation about alarm clocks is often a conversation about history, ”wrote the head of state.
According to him, this year Bulgarian society has emerged from despondency.
Thousands of Bulgarians raised their voices demanding a more just life and every free citizen was an alarm clock! Each one of the irreconcilable, who with the light of his telephone poured into the sea of lights here, in the square of Sofia and in many other cities of the country, was an alarm clock. All the compatriots abroad who demonstrated that Bulgarians around the world are united in their demand for a modern and European Bulgaria was a wake-up call. Every satirist who exposed demagoguery and corruption with words and cartoons was a wake-up call. Every journalist who dared to search and tell the truth was an alarm clock. Nurses and mothers of children with disabilities, who defended their social rights, raised public awareness. In these difficult times, everyone: doctors, teachers or ordinary people who have given a helping hand to those in need, all who have accepted the trial with dignity and have thought of the other, are an example for us. That is why this year, more than ever, thousands of people made the holiday of the alarm clocks meaningful. It depends on our awakening how Bulgaria will be tomorrow, the president also wrote and congratulated the People’s Awakening Day.
