The date is December 21. The coveted date to open restaurants, gyms and shopping centers. The only ones who took the burden and the financial negatives of the business to deal with the pandemic. This was sent to the media by the Bulgarian Restaurant Association and the Restaurant Association in Bulgaria regarding next December 21, when the current order of the Minister of Health expires.
We publish the position of SZB and BAZ without editorial intervention:
The clubs have been closed for more than a month, for a total of 150 days during the year. It is about half a year in which they cannot exercise their right to work. The restaurants are closed for 20 days and a total of three months during the year. What has changed? As you know, industry organizations closely monitor everything that directly affects our industry. These are the facts and how the incidence has changed since the last anti-epidemic measures:
October 26: Order to close all nightclubs in the country. To date, COVID-19 cases nationwide are 2,243 new cases out of 7,659 tests or nearly 30% positive tests.
Friday, November 27: Order to close all restaurants, shopping centers and gyms. COVID-19 prevalence data: 3,327 new cases out of 9,179 tests or 36.2%, positive samples, 6,647 in hospitals, 1,865 cured, 151 deaths. Friday, December 11: 3,097 new cases of 8,587 tests, 36.1% positive samples, 7,151 in hospitals, 4,290 cured, 157 deaths.
WHAT HAS CHANGED? The answer is: NOTHING! As of today, December 15, the only correct position that the Bulgarian Restaurant Association and the Bulgarian Restaurant Association can accept is:
Immediate opening of all businesses closed by order of the Ministry of Health and announcement of the rules under which they will work. Not on December 21! Now! Declare decisions taken as ineffective, erroneous and introduce a moratorium on discriminatory prohibitions on the work of a single part of the business. Work bans should be introduced only for all sectors that do not cover essential goods.
We demand the lifting of the ban on the work of all nightclubs, restaurants, bars, gyms and shopping centers! And we want to know under what rules our clients will be able to celebrate the New Year.
Art. 48 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria: Citizens have the right to work. The state is responsible for creating the conditions for the exercise of this right. The last few days have been good enough proof that restaurants are not to blame for spreading the virus! What they were trying to convince us of and with all their might they were turning public opinion against us! The facts, however, speak louder than all the other nonsense you have said and done. And when the facts speak and the HEADQUARTERS is silent !!!
