IN On Wednesday, the head of the transplant and nephrology clinic, Prof. Emil Paskalev, along with his entire team, resigned due to the planned transformation of the transplant clinic into a covid ward. The director of the Alexandrovska Hospital said today at a press conference that he had not accepted them.

“The resignations presented to the transplant and nephrology clinic, which have been a fact since Wednesday, have not been signed by me and have not been accepted as such. We will take advantage of the legal period of 7 days to respond to this,” said the professor Boris Bogov.

Will COVID-19 Leave Chronic Illness Patients Neglected?

“Yesterday morning, the head of the clinic, Prof. Emil Paskalev, together with his entire team, including nurses, collectively resigned for something that I cannot comment on as a doctor. I can say that this is extremely irresponsible behavior, an irresponsible attitude. and statements from a man who has always claimed to take care of his patients, “said Professor Bogov.

“Probably more than 15 Alexandrovska doctors have resigned,” he added.

He described Professor Paskalev’s actions as “abdication of his patients, inability to jump over his own ego.”

“Right here at Alexandrovska Hospital, there was a bombing, there were two terrible crises, and then the hospital survived. And suddenly someone is allowed to leave Alexandrovska Hospital to drop off their patients,” Professor Paskalev continued.

He ensured that transplant patients would be treated the same, if not better.

“They will not be abandoned at any time, it does not matter if it will be me or someone else,” he emphasized.
