The hosts entered the game better and quickly settled in the middle of the “Nerazzurri”. In the fourth minute. Marco Asensio received a good pass in the penalty area, shot without delay under the crossbar, but Handanovic showed a brilliant reflection and took a corner. Two minutes later Valverde shot from afar, but the ball went over the gate.

Inter’s response was immediate. In the 10th minute, Perisic overtook Lucas Vázquez in the penalty area around the corner and gave the ball to Barrela, but his header hit the crossbar. Seconds later, Lautaro Martínez fell from defense and shot dangerously, but Courtois was careful and saved. The Italians continued attacking and Arturo Vidal in the 14th minute stretched the locals’ net, but from outside.

Federico Valverde made an incredible pass in the 23rd minute. Karim Benzema headed the ball into the area and the Uruguayan shot from the air, but his volley didn’t work.

The hosts still went ahead in the 25th minute after a childish error by Ashraf Hakimi, immediately sanctioned by “cunning fox” Benzema. The Frenchman crossed the ball returned to the goalkeeper, overtook Handanovic and scored into an empty goal.

Guests kept wondering how they allowed such an easy goal when Sergio Ramos surprised them for the second time. He signed with his trademark, intercepting a cross from the corner with his head. For the captain it was a goal №100 with Real Madrid, 55 of them scored with a header.

The joy of the players in white did not last long. Two minutes later, Niccolo Barella killed the Real defense with a fantastic high heel pass from the air to Lautaro Martínez, who sent the ball into the lower left corner of Courtois.

The second part began as the first ended, with dizzying attacks on both sides. First Benzema walked between the defenders of Inter, but his shot was blocked. After this commotion in front of Courtois ended with a shot from De Fry, but the ball collided with a defender of the hosts.

In the 64th minute, Zinedine Zidane made two changes to his team: Vinicius and Rodrigo appeared in the game, taking the places of Hazard and Asensio.

Inter kept looking for the tie and got it in the 68th minute. Lautaro Martínez found Perisic with his head in the penalty area and the Croatian from a difficult position found the right way to the door of Real Madrid and did not leave Courtois chances by 2: 2.

A quarter of an hour before the end, Mandy cleared the ball at Lautaro Martínez’s feet, advanced and shot, but within the out. A minute later, a mistake by Tony Kroos allowed the visitors to launch a counterattack, which brought Perisic into shooting position, but his shot went wide out the door.

Five minutes later, Karim Benzema could have ended the drama, but he played awkwardly in the goal area and the ball hit him in the arm. Again, he failed to score in overtime, when he dominated gracefully with his chest, turned and fired, but Handanovic took a corner.
