Hundreds of people lined up in front of the vans for a quick exam and test in front of the capital’s main hospitals. This is where the question arose: for which patients are rapid tests free and for which patients are they not?

Is there an influx of antigen testing before “Pirogov”?

He was tense in front of COVID vans in Sofia all day. There was a large influx of patients. Today, however, it became clear that not everyone can get the free test, which disappointed people.

In the early hours of the day, lines formed for antigen tests in front of the COVID van at Alexandrovska Hospital. Due to the heavy workload, the patients had to arm themselves with patience.

The situation was similar in front of “Pirogov”. Over the past 24 hours, 150 patients with coronavirus symptoms have sought help. The hospital clarified that antigen tests are performed at the discretion of the doctor on duty. Some of the waiters were surprised. The hospital explained that antigen tests are free only in certain cases.

To relieve the capital’s hospitals, some polyclinics will also have to set up separate areas for people with flu-like symptoms to be screened. Among them is the 12th DCC, which already has experience in diagnosing coronavirus since spring. A team of doctors will consult patients and, if necessary, tests will be carried out.

The polyclinics, which will have special diagnostic rooms, have a week to prepare. Already yesterday, the health authorities asked people who do not have symptoms not to attend the tests. However, it turned out that many people who showed no signs did. An inspection by NOVA showed that many of the country’s medical institutions are not yet ready with their COVID vans. The promise is that they will work in the new week.
