The fake video aired today at 3:25 PM local time (5:25 PM Bulgarian time), while the Queen’s real holiday message started at 3:00 PM (17.00 Bulgarian time) on BBC and ITV. Britain’s “Channel 4” notes that the purpose of its experiment is to show and educate viewers what “manipulative credibility” fake news can achieve thanks to modern technology.

The queen’s five-minute message addressed a number of controversial issues, including the decision of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Megan Markle, to leave Britain. And the decision of the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, to resign from his royal duties earlier this year after an interview he gave to the BBC about his relationship with tycoon Jeffrey Epstein, accused of various sex crimes. Later, Epstein committed suicide in his cell.

The fake video is also directed at Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson. The fake queen explains that 2020 was also a year of heroes and points out that this is the health workers who treated Johnson and have not yet become pregnant. “For almost seventy years, I have a tradition of talking to you at Christmas.
