Sofia police protesters booed Prime Minister Boyko Borisov once before his speech on the occasion of his professional vacation was read today. Hours earlier, the prime minister thanked them for their efforts and for being at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus, along with doctors.

However, a 30% increase in their salaries is not expected, as in a total of 34 state administrations that have direct contact with potential carriers of the infection. On this occasion, the president of the police union Valentin Popov asked at the protest “How many front lines are there in this country”.

As the former chief secretary of the Interior Ministry, the police have always accepted Borissov as one of them, especially since he has always met their demands. However, in the current situation, it offered only 5% above the highest 10% expected for next year, an offer that was not accepted by the state by the unions in the Ministry of the Interior.
