The 57th night of a protest against Borissov’s Cabinet 3 and Attorney General Ivan Geshev began at 7 pm Protesters began to gather in the square in front of the presidential building.

According to the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, 40 people were detained in 24 fasting proceedings and one prior to trial. 34 were indicted on general charges (30 for vandalism), three for wounding a police officer and one for threatening to kill. The organizers of the “Poison Trio” accused the Ministry of the Interior of police arbitrariness.
The protest passed without escalation of tension for the moment, but that is how it began on Wednesday night, but hours later the Plaza de la Independencia became a battlefield. Some of the protesters started attacking the police with bombs, bottles and all kinds of material at hand.
And today there was a new blockade attempt in the morning in the Plaza de la Independencia. There was a new tension between the protesters and the police. Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the protesters re-emerged onto the yellow cobblestones in front of the National Assembly building, Nova TV reported.
Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, taking hundreds of protesters away by truck. It has failed. A woman fell on the yellow cobblestones in a clash between police and protesters. An ambulance was later called to the scene and taken to hospital. Another protester passed out.
