I hit her several times, then loaded my pistol and fired. I remember the first and second shots, he admitted.

If Victorio Alexandrov receives a sentence other than life in prison without parole, the lives of Darina Ministerska’s parents will be in danger. This was made clear in the prosecution’s statement against the man who shot his girlfriend on October 29, 2018: Darina, 23, and her daughter Nicole, one year old. The young woman was murdered at her home in the Nadezhda district and the girl in a dependency on the outskirts of Sofia 8 hours later.

It was already clear in the case that in 2019 Victorio threatened the Ministerski family from prison.

The pleas began at the Sofia City Court on Thursday. The state prosecutor’s office demanded that Victorio Alexandrov receive the most severe punishment: life in prison without parole.

In an extensive plea, Darina’s mother, Vanya Ministerska, insisted on the same punishment. He cited Victorio’s confession in court: “I got angry and hit her several times. I loaded my pistol and fired. I remember the first and second shots. She fell.”

Minister Vanya also refuted his claim that he killed little Nicole because the police lights startled him. He fired before the uniformed men got out of their cars.

“I couldn’t leave the child in the hands of these people,” Victorio said.

According to Darina’s mother, she manipulated her daughter and the girls she had dated before. He made them feel sorry for him, claiming that his heart was sick and that he had been adopted. He also used domestic violence against his ex-girlfriends.

“His parents knew about it,” Vanya Ministerska said. Victorio’s lawyer, Petya Shopova, said he committed the crime because he was humiliated and was desperate to lose the boy.

“It was dramatic in custody. He did not want to eat, he did not drink water, now he also has a kidney crisis,” he said. That is why Victorio was sent shortly after his arrest in the Lovech psychiatric hospital.

The verdict is expected to be read next week.
