One in three PCR tests for coronavirus performed at the National Reference Laboratory of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases is positive. This was told to BNR by the director of the center and a member of the national operational staff, Professor Todor Kantardzhiev.
“One out of every three tests was positive because we worked with surveillance materials from 15 districts and a large part of the hospitals that have PCR diagnoses in Sofia and in these districts.
What we can control is to keep persuading people to take anti-epidemic measures in importance: first are indoor masks, second distance, physical distance and third are disinfection and hygiene measures, “added Professor Todor Kantardzhiev.
According to him, in both small and large cities of the country, masks are not widely used indoors:
“Many services and institutions in the country do not fulfill their duties. State railways must ensure that everyone wears masks, not handing out masks, but to monitor whether masks are worn on trains, where there are waiting rooms in stations, this it must be the responsibility of BDZ.

He stood firm that the coronavirus problem in the media should not be overexposed, because people are tired and should not be afraid, not even the slightest trace of mass panic should be allowed.
“The measures that are now in the order of the Minister of Health must be observed by the convincing people. Who wears a mask does not infect, reduces to 5% the possibility of infecting someone even with a large number of viruses.
“Whoever uses a mask and is among those who are infected, has about three times the possibility of becoming infected, and when everyone uses a mask indoors, the probability of contagion falls below 1%,” said the expert .
