Even if we close the UK, the mutation will not stop as it has already spread to other countries, “said immunologist Prof. Andrey Chorbanov in the Hello Bulgaria study.
According to him, the virus is constantly changing and its new variant is more contagious and will spread faster. “There are several proteins that make up the structure of COVID-19. There is a larger one, with which the virus adapts to more easily penetrate the body,” explained Chorbanov.
New strain of COVID-19 continues to spread outside the UK
The immunologist insisted that the mutations were not yet enough to speak of a new strain. “Scientists are hesitant to comment for the simple reason that they do not know if mutations will make a difference. The thing to know is that even if one, two, three or four ingredients are changed, it does not mean that the previous protein has changed, “he added.
According to him, all coronavirus vaccines so far have been based on the Spike protein, which mutates most frequently.
