Bogdan Kirilov and Professor Asen Baltov gave an extraordinary briefing, in which they gave more details about the upcoming vaccine deliveries to Bulgaria.
According to them, more than 3,200,000 RNA vaccines will arrive in the country in the next three months. “1,200,000 are under the solidarity regime. Therefore, 5 countries, including us, will receive advance doses of the next immunization deliveries,” Kirilov said.
“Thanks to the prime minister, who was absolutely unwavering all the time, we agreed to such an amount,” said Professor Baltov. According to him, after the inclusion of Borisov, it became clear that such a large number of doses would be dispensed.
“This will allow us to take a big leap in vaccination,” he said. According to him, this may increase the activity of GPs.
“We hope to have more than 50% of the population vaccinated by the end of June, and by adding people who have already been infected, we will get the number of people needed to achieve herd immunity,” said Baltov.
According to Kirilov, currently vaccination in our country is delayed due to late deliveries by one of the manufacturers.
