Everything positive has been achieved not with a dictator, but with a firm hand. When a statesman, a politician, or even a party figure hesitates, tormented by Hamlet’s questions, he often fails. That is why intellectuals do not become politicians: they look at decisions on many levels and in many ways. This was stated by the historian Prof. Andrey Pantev to the Bulgarian National Radio.
“Famous people with a positive sign in our history and the world are not angels. There are negative aspects in their behavior and heritage. We must not hide their disadvantages, but when professionals prevail, we treat them with respect and admiration,” said the historian .
On the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the birth of Todor Zhivkov, the historian pointed out that he had not seen him live, but it is a true fact and a factor in our recent history:
“He was enthusiastically applauded by intellectuals, artists, workers. And he ended up dying lucky. You can’t change history by downloading portraits.”
If humanity learned from the lessons of history, there should be no tyranny, inequality, poverty, violence, dictatorships and disillusionment, added Professor Pantev.
“However, something positive remains from the past. Politics is not a hoax, it is not a hoax. Politics is done with dignity, with commitment, with balance,” he concluded. Prof. Andrey Pantev.
