Prime Minister Borissov: Retirees with BGN 50 supplements at the end of March (VIDEO)
- Starting in January, the minimum pension becomes BGN 300 and, starting on July 1, all will increase by 5%.
- The cabinet reserves 12 million BGN for a hot lunch for 50,000 people.
By the end of March, more than 2 million older people in Bulgaria will receive BGN 50 as a supplement to their pensions. We have allocated BGN 318 million for this. This was written by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on Facebook, after today’s cabinet meeting.
Remember that the law on the Social Security budget was passed and therefore a separate decision or decree of the Council of Ministers was not necessary, as pensioners will take an additional 50 BGN in January. This is 106 million BGN every month. He explained that in fact more than a third of the country’s population receives this supplement.
Borissov points out that as of January 1, the minimum pension becomes BGN 300 and, as of July 1, all other pensions will increase by 5%.
“Our next commitment in the midst of the serious crisis”,
he says.
Remember that in April 392,000 people with low pensions will receive supplements of BGN 120 for food products. This, in turn, would cost the budget BGN 47.4 million.
“We must also take care of those of our fellow citizens who are the most vulnerable and need support to get through the winter more easily. That is why we have decided that 12 million BGN in 2021 will go to 50,000 people who will receive a hot lunch at the end of April. They are 20,000 more than this year ”, concluded Borissov.
