Prime Minister Boyko Borissov checked how COVID-19 vaccines are stored in Plovdiv.
The first vaccines arrived early this morning at the NCIPD, and from there deliveries to Plovdiv, Burgas and Varna began.

Health Minister Kostadin Angelov was also present in Plovdiv. About 1,000 doses reached the city. This happened with the increase in security measures.
Angelov and RHI-Plovdiv Director Dr. Vanya Mancheva welcomed Prime Minister Borissov and showed him how vaccines are stored. Once taken out of the special freezers, the vaccines last up to 5 days. That is why an iron organization is needed so that all can be used during this time.
So far, the government has allocated a total of 180 million BGN for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines, and an additional 50 million BGN is being prepared.
“The number of those who want to be vaccinated is increasing, which is joyful and optimistic,” Minister Angelov reported.
The logistics for the distribution of vaccine doses for the six regions of the country are already underway.
Prime Minister Borissov expressed special thanks to the European Commission and its President Ursula von der Leyen for the good organization and synchronized logistics of vaccine delivery to all European Union countries. “I am confident that with the help of vaccines, Bulgarian citizens and other Europeans will be able to overcome the pandemic,” Borissov added.

Minister Angelov noted that the vaccine doses at RHI-Plovdiv will be stored in a refrigerator at a temperature of 2-8 degrees, which is allowed for the next five days, during which the vaccines will be used. “The packages for each hospital and the information materials are ready,” said Angelov, who emphasized that each patient should receive two doses of the vaccine, after which the information system that has been prepared can issue a certificate to each vaccinated person. . health recalled that vaccination is free and voluntary.
Minister Angelov also pointed out that so far the funds allocated by the government for Remdesivir are around 35 million BGN, at the same time that 83 million BGN per month is allocated to support frontline workers. In addition, under the NHIF, the funding for the first line per month for general practitioners is BGN 5 million and BGN 1.2 million for family practitioner nurses. The Minister of Health also recalled that the government has allocated more than 22 million BGN for BulBIO activities.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov, who was also present at RHI-Plovdiv, said that army doctors and medical personnel are also involved in the first phase of the vaccination process.
Earlier in the morning, the prime minister visited the training ground in the town of Tsrancha together with the military minister.
