Witnesses say the ground shook for 30 seconds. There is great destruction and collapsed residential buildings. Rescuers fear that people will be buried under the rubble. Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said that at least six buildings had been destroyed. Meanwhile, the governor of Izmir province, Tunch Sawyer, announced the demolition of at least 20 houses. “To date, six houses are known to have been destroyed in Bornova and Bayrakli districts in Izmir,” the minister wrote on his Twitter page.
“There are 4 victims and about 120 injured. More than 20 blocks have collapsed. It is not known how many people were in them. So far there is no serious panic. However, we were all very scared.
