Tie between the police and the authorities for the salary increase requested by the law enforcement officers. With a photographic exhibition located in front of the National Assembly, the employees of the Interior Ministry demand that their salaries be increased by 30% as of January 1. Otherwise, they went out to protest. The issue was also discussed in the Council of Ministers, between the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance.

Terziiski: Salaries in the Interior Ministry should be increased, but it’s a question of possibilities

Toni Raichev has worked as a lifeguard in the Interior Ministry system since 1993. He says that after 27 years of service to society, he is offended by the proposal of a group of deputies to increase his salary at the expense of money for children.

“The people who presented this bill, in my opinion, have no place in the National Assembly. I withdraw my trust in them. We are parents. We also have children. And we are part of this society, ”he said.

In Toni Raichev’s group there are also lifeguards who are part of the general teams with Emergency Aid. For their additional work, these employees will not be paid. And although the union wants a 30% increase in salaries in the system, the leaders of the Interior Ministry are inflexible: more than 15% cannot be.

“The date of the national protest will probably be set on Friday. And if it happens, from now on I can tell you that he will be in charge of the National Assembly”, the deputy is categorical – SFSMVR president Iliya Kuzmanov.

And while, a few meters from parliament, policemen organized an exhibition with images of how their work was going during the pandemic, the issue in the Council of Ministers turned out to be part of the debate in a working meeting on medicines.

“The resources necessary to increase salaries in the Interior Ministry system were provided by the restructuring of expenditures and transfers to the central budget,” explained Finance Minister Kiril Ananiev.

“The structures should not be opposed in any way. We greatly appreciate the work of the Bulgarian employees in the Interior Ministry. Yes, there are not 30, as in some of the other organizations, but first, there were very low salaries, they were not increased during years “That’s why we did it for them in the summer. They don’t intertwine the two, because first, it’s not fair, and second, it’s not beautiful, “she said.

If the economy does well, there will be compensation for the Interior Ministry next year, the prime minister promised.
