The Polish authorities have introduced an almost complete quarantine in the country for a period of three weeks. Sites related to culture, recreation and sports will not work. Only grocery stores and pharmacies will operate in shopping malls, and restaurants will only make home deliveries. The measures go into effect today.
Poles are recommended to work from home, it is forbidden to invite more than 5 people. Wearing masks everywhere becomes mandatory. This time, however, there are no movement restrictions, hair salons and some other sites in the field of services will work. Distance learning for older students continues since the fall. In mid-January, only first through third graders entered class, and now they will go back to studying online.
The German Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Disease Control classifies Poland and several other countries, including Bulgaria, as high-risk areas due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases there. The change means that starting Sunday, people will be able to enter Germany from neighboring Poland if they can take a negative coronavirus test. In Poland, more than 2 million cases of infection have been confirmed since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
