The president, who had provided the best education for his sons Assen and Pavel, insisted that Joanna also attend a private school. Unlike her adoptive siblings, the artistic boy had no interest in exact sciences, which is why she enrolled in one of the most prestigious language schools. Plevneliev was convinced that Joanna would receive an education of the highest quality there, so he generously untied the purse for the annual fee of BGN 22,000.
With the extra classes, food and transportation to school, the fee increased to BGN 30,000 per year, an amount that was in the pocket of the president, who is among the 10 richest Bulgarians. On September 1, Joanna crossed the threshold of the school where she will be in third grade.
“We bought a new set of textbooks for third grade. My daughter wears a uniform. Of course, we bought a larger size. I keep the uniform and I think it is a kind of discipline.
