PFC Botev’s debts exceed BGN 30 million!

PFC Botev Plovdiv’s financial situation is quite worrying and at the moment the club’s total debts exceed BGN 30 million, said a journalist. Plovdiv24.bg. This was made clear at a press conference by the PFC Botev Association, which is the majority owner of the club with 61 percent of the shares.

The president of the Association Radoslav Koshinski, as well as the members of the Board of Directors, Boris Gizdakov and Teodor Bochev, spoke to the media about the condition of the “yellow-blacks”.

“In the last two months, the signs on the general condition of the club were not positive. There was no chaos, but there were many problems. Unfortunately, these problems have not been resolved to date,” said Radoslaw Koszynski.

He also said quite disturbing things about the current state of the club in financial and legal terms:

“After the KTB bankruptcy, there was a number of debts that were associated – 52 to 54 million. The main problem is half of this amount – 26 million lev. The trustee wants them. We have been convicted in two instances and one third is yet to come. In cases there are 3 million levs. If we want the club to exist after the New Year, we must urgently look for options, “said Radoslaw Koszynski.

“As of December 2019, operating liabilities exceed BGN 2.5 million. To date, these liabilities are 1.3 million. However, each liability is deferred and has a payment plan. They do not expire at this time and they are not scary. The debts with the NRA are less than 200,000 BGN and even more for the providers, “added Koshinski.

“Ten days ago, the trustees of CCB filed a new lawsuit against the club for the same BGN 26 million. This caused us another BGN 1 million damage as fees. You realize that these BGN 4 million fees in a few months they can lead to bad club events.

The solution to these cases is to buy the debts. The debt is sold for 565,000 BGN. According to the lawyers, the lawsuit, which was filed 10 days ago, is a clue to us that we have nothing more to look forward to, but we have to buy this debt. It is specific that Petrol also has debts on this debt. Our community needs to raise funds to buy this debt. I don’t know if we have the time, energy and community spirit to do this, “added Radoslaw Koszynski.

This is what Boris Gizdakov said afterwards:

It is not a precedent that the Association is the majority owner of the club. This was the case after Hristolov, and the same was the case after KTB’s bankruptcy. This also happened in 2017, when Samuilov transferred the shares for the first time.

The association was not expelled by Mr. Samuilov or by the fans. There was a contract for the transfer of shares. It follows from him that we could easily have finished it, because there are many things that Mr. Samuilov did not fulfill in this regard.

One year ago, on October 10, 2019, Mr. Samuilov submitted an application requesting his removal from the Board of Directors. At that time, few knew about this document. He and lawyer Radev officially resigned from the Board, taking advantage of the 6-month legal deadline.

We subsequently received a letter from Mr. Samuilov with a request to Radoslav Koshinski to submit 3 nominations for new members of the Board. This letter is from July 10, and we refuse because the goal is not the fans of the rule. According to the statute, the Association is entitled to only one member of the Board. Soon after, Mr. Samuilov transferred the shares of the Association.

Samuilov said he was disappointed and that other teams with lower budgets were doing better. We comment on all this because our explanation is that despite the significant funds that Samuilov has invested, they have not been done properly. According to him, he was two years old. I don’t know from this logic how many zeros we have to put in the last year.
