Tottenham won their match on matchday 4 of the League Cup tournament on penalties 6: 5 against Chelsea. In regulation time, the game ended 1: 1. Timo Werner opened for the “blues” with a goal in the 19th minute, but Lamela equalized in the 84th minute to send the game on penalties. The decisive omission was made by Mason Mount, who expelled Chelsea from the tournament.
Chelsea started the game well and in the 17th minute Hudson-Odoi shot excellently, but Loris handled the situation. Two minutes later Werner beat the Tottenham goalkeeper and Chelsea opened the scoring.

However, Mandy capitulated after a shot from Lamela in the 83rd minute, which restored the tie. At the end of the match no new goals were scored and penalties were awarded.
On penalties for the first four performances, both teams scored as accurately as Dyer, Lamela, Heuberg, Moura for Tottenham and for Chelsea: Abraham, Aspilicueta, Jorgeninho and Emerson. Kane scored for Tottenham and missed for Chelsea Mount, so Tottenham continued the fight.
