Rumen Radev plans to consult today with the parties represented in parliament regarding the upcoming elections to the National Assembly, BNR reported.
The ruling GERB party will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, and the BSP by its leader Cornelia Ninova.
The United Patriots said they would not respond to the president’s invitation. The co-chair of his parliamentary group, Boris Yachev, explained why:
“We believe that participation in the consultations with the president is useless, because these consultations had to be held before the March 28 date was made public. If there is a debate, it should be about the issue, not about the date of the elections itself, but about changes in the rules for holding elections in a pandemic. “
Here is the position of the party “Will” – of its leader Veselin Mareshki:
“We will accept your invitation, we will go to hear your arguments by the date of 28.” And possibly the other arguments with which he is now trying to postpone the elections, and then we will come out with an official position ”.
The MRF will also go to the head of state. He plans to meet separately with the individual parties, adds BNR.
