– Mr. Nikodimov, what did you like the most about CSKA’s victory over Roma?
– The fact that they played in an organized way, they fought a whole match. All players participated in both phases of the game. Apparently the big name mobilized them to the extreme and all the boys gave away. I am happy with what I saw.
– What do you think of this building with three centers, used by the team in the last games?
– I used this system. It depends on what type of players you have, the coach determines it at this time. If you don’t have three central defenders, you can’t do that. And it’s about good players, because you can find centrals, but not so good.
– What do you attribute to the fact that Bruno Akrapovich significantly improved the team’s performance quite quickly?
– An experienced coach knows his job, while the youngsters are a bit homeless. Especially in CSKA it is very windy. Akrapovich knows his work, he has tried this game system, he is familiar with Bulgarian football, because he has been here 2-3 years. In general, he probably knew the CSKA players, I guess he saw them on video and quickly made the changes he made. It works up to a point, although it is still not what it should be.
– Does it seem that compared to Stamen Belchev you feel a more serious presence on the touchline?
– Coaching is not that simple. You need a lot of knowledge for this job. You yourself have had to participate in many of these battles to know the psyche of the players and the opponent to some extent. You have to have intelligence, it is also very important. Although now it is much easier, because many games are broadcast on television and you can find out in every possible way. The point is that when you decide, you must be firmly convinced that what you are doing is correct. And Akrapovich is clearly confident. Well done for last night’s game.

– What do you expect from CSKA’s game against Botev (Vratsa) on Sunday?
– We have nothing to comment, we have to accept it. The trouble is that here at home, while the enemy is taking shape, we have not yet found the key. We need to think about this. We play better outside. He saw Botev, Rome in Rome and the Romanians. In some ways it’s easier for us to play outside than inside because we have fast players who are good counterattacks.
