The National Assembly is discussing the BSP and MRF request for the early release of the Speaker of Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva, after collecting 96 signatures for her impeachment on Wednesday.
To be removed, 50 percent of the deputies present in the room must vote. GERB and United Patriots have 116 MPs, while BSP and MRF have 96 without Delyan Peevski, who is not going to work. There are 15 independent deputies in parliament and Volia does not support the requested removal of Karayancheva.
BSP pointed out 5 reasons for Karayancheva’s dismissal
“With words and behavior, with self-evaluation, Ms. Karayancheva smears the authority of the National Assembly”said the leader of the BSP, Cornelia Ninova, presenting the reasons for her resignation.
He gave five reasons for the requested resignation. The first is ignorance of the Constitution and non-compliance with the laws of Bulgaria, such as the Regulations of the National Assembly.
“In her first speech to the National Assembly, Ms. Karayancheva gave proof of this by saying that the deputies here are representatives only of the regions from which they were elected. Under the Constitution, each elected deputy represents the entire Bulgarian people . “Ninova said.
As a second reason, he pointed to a violation of the principle of separation of powers. The reason is that Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has not participated in a parliamentary session since November 2019. “Despite our repeated requests to hear from the Prime Minister, Ms. Karayancheva has always found a way to prevent this from happening.”Ninova pointed out.
According to her, the parliamentary control exercised by the BSP deputies for Bulgaria has been repeatedly underestimated, the questions have been rejected, postponed and not only the Prime Minister but also the ministers answered them.
Next, Ninova pointed out “a flagrant violation of the Regulations of the National Assembly.” Since 2017, bills presented by the BSP have not been considered or voted in the House. “In this case, extremely important bills, such as the Law on the Third Age”Ninova said. He informed that the invoices presented by the BSP that are about to expire are 22:00.
“Extremely harmful practice, you imposed between the first and second reading of the bills, the deputies to introduce amendments that have nothing to do with the spirit of the law.”said the leader of the Socialists.
“Last but not least, we believe that with words, behavior, self-esteem, Ms. Karayancheva smears the authority of the National Assembly. It is absolutely unacceptable to say” When you do not like the roads or the construction of Boyko Borisov, walk, yes. “You saw what the reaction of the Bulgarian people was. This is an insult to all Bulgarian citizens, with whose funds these roads are being built, and suppose whose funds are being used to rob these roads.”Ninova said.
According to her, “Ms. Karayancheva’s behavior is even more unacceptable the moment she receives an ugly, indecent and unacceptable evaluation from her own leader.” It is a conversation in which she is defined as a Kardzhali woman with an obscene word, which Ninova does not quote.
In this sense, the most normal behavior then was to resign to protect the honor of the parliament and the dignity of Bulgarian women. Instead, he wrote on his Facebook wall “I believe in Boyko Borissov.” You can trust him for this. Evaluation, this is your choice, your own self-humiliation, but we no longer want the presence of the President of the National Assembly to humiliate the institution and not think at all about the dignity of Bulgarian women. “Ninova added.
MRF to Karayancheva: Dear martyr of Kardzhali
“Forgetting that you are the President of Parliament in a parliamentary republic and acting as an official of a neighboring party means committing a political crime against the Republic, and history will not forgive it.”said the president of MRF Mustafa Karadayi during the debate.
The MRF insists on the early dismissal of Tsveta Karayancheva for her systematic failure to fulfill her duties as Speaker of the National Assembly, violation of the Constitution, damage to the prestige of parliament and undermining the foundations of parliamentarism and democracy.
“In 10 years we have understood that GERB is unsurpassed in its arrogance and therefore they will hardly be corrected. GERB will wait for the vote to pass and the self-forgotten will continue on the road. They will lose the opportunity to show that they can be corrected. GERB, who is so afraid of an interim cabinet that it will inevitably happen. All this will lead to instability in the country and each next government must first have a rescue plan, in conditions unknown to the country for more than 20 years or more. “Karaday said.
According to him, when you don’t have the ability, the experience, the vision, the aggression, the hatred and the arrogance remain.
“Of course, their populism, included. This will not help Ms. Karayancheva and GERB to stay in power, because the Bulgarian citizens do not want anyone to guide and get used to them.”Karaday said.
According to him, Tsveta Karayancheva believes that the request for her resignation is just an act of the opposition and will pass.
“Furthermore, Karayancheva is trying to duplicate the behavior of the heavily represented prime minister and president in an attempt to stand out and earn dividends, but she is unsuccessful and the result is mistake after mistake.”Karaday said.
“If Ms. Karayancheva is remembered, it will be with the short but definitive assessment of her party president, which is available to all Bulgarian citizens. There is no place for the word Kardzhali in this definition, but that is the end of our I disagree with her. “added his MRF colleague Hamid Hamid.
He addressed her with the words “dear martyr of Kardzhali”.
COAT OF ARMS: Karayancheva remains president of the National Assembly
“Tsveta Karayancheva will be president of the 44th National Assembly until the end of March next year”said in response the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group GERB Krassimir Tsipov.
“Ms Karayancheva, you have not lost the confidence of the majority who elected you. Today we will vote with great confidence against this draft decision on your early release. In this way, we will give you our support, because we appreciate your qualities. Ms. Karayancheva, and the ability to lead this Parliament “, Tsipov said.
He asked the BSP and the MRF to come up with serious reasons. “On these grounds, he actually admits that he may have decided to see similar draft decisions every week. We have bad news for you, it will not happen. I ask you to vote against the early release of the President of the National Assembly, as since there is no clear reason supported and motivated “, Tsipov said. The chairman of the culture commission Vezhdi Rashidov tried to change the debate by saying:
“Today’s debate is not whether Tsveta Karayancheva insulted the parliament, but Elena Yoncheva insulted the entire Bulgarian state.”
On Wednesday, Rashidov asked Elena Yoncheva that the European Parliament immediately withdraw her for “the lies and slander that contaminated Bulgaria” for her criticism of the rule of law and corruption.
Rashidov described the debate on the resignation of the speaker of parliament as a farce.
“Shame, an unworthy debate”he said and criticized the BSP for constantly wanting Prime Minister Borissov to come to parliament.
“Mrs. Ninova, stop loving Boyko Borissov. If he wants, he will come, if you don’t like him, invite him to a restaurant and talk to the men.”, Rashidov gave the idea.
