With 121 deputies in the plenary room, the parliament barely gathered a quorum to start today’s plenary session, BGNES reported.

Deputies BSP and MRF again did not participate in the morning’s registration, but unlike yesterday, today the ruling majority gathered the minimum necessary number of deputies for the parliament to function.

However, the meeting began with a scandal. The reason for this was the extraordinary item on the agenda, which provides for a change in the regulation, allowing independent parliamentarians to make statements from the parliamentary rostrum. It was requested by the separatist BSP for the Bulgarian MPs, who called themselves Progressive Socialists.

The request of the left-wing MP Hristo Prodanov to drop the point, and in particular his interruption by President Tsveta Karayancheva while motivating him, became a concrete reason for the opposition. This provoked a wave of reactions among the ranks of the opposition.

“I think whatever the emotions, the rules are the rules. In the first point, you try to put it in favor of the government,” said Christian Vigenin, the first reproach to the government. However, his speech aroused strong emotions in the part right of the room.

“I don’t know why they are beating the tables as if they were in a circus,” continued Vigenin from the rostrum, according to whom his colleague’s interruption without reason is further proof that Tsveta Karayancheva must “leave her post.”

“That part of the room behaves like in the field, like shepherds,” said Tasko Ermenkov, who also addressed Karayancheva personally: “If you continue to behave as in your personal kitchen, your place is not here.”

“This is not done with requests, but with votes. Only two weeks ago my colleagues confirmed that my place is here, for which I thank them ”, Tsveta Karayancheva rushed to reply, recalling that the request for the cessation of their powers by the BSP and MRF failed in their vote in plenary. room.

In the end, the meeting continued on the merits, and just minutes after it began, GERB initiated a roster quorum check. As this procedure can only be requested once, this deprived the opposition of the opportunity to avail themselves of it during the hearing. / BGNES
