Overdose: called MEP

The reader’s imagination often turns out to be poor when it comes to interpreting messages from the government, parties, state institutions, private associations, or public relations. Dnevnik’s “Overdose” column began with a compilation of the absurdities of the messages during the 2014 election campaign, but continues with new stories.

MEP Alexander Yordanov called critics of the transport of the first vaccines by minibus for sausages “idiots” on his Facebook account.

He describes the use of this company as a “perfectly done job”, which today was defined by the organizers as an exception.

There are serious doubts that the entire operation, despite its presentation as a manifestation of goodwill and responsiveness on the part of the companies, violates the laws and regulations of Bulgaria and the EU. In addition, there is no answer on the cause of this exception, since the vaccination site has been in operation for weeks, and the delivery date of the first 10,000 doses has been known for several days.

Alexander Alexandrov Yordanov (as the name of his official page is written as an MEP, where his biography is not yet available) is a former president of the Bulgarian National Assembly and member of the European Parliament of the UDF, elected from the GERB list. In the European Parliament, he is a member of the group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats).
