“The system will not be able to cope if the number of patients continues to grow,” he commented on the situation in Bulgaria.
According to him, when schools close, 75% of contacts can be restricted. He noted that national statistics in developed countries have an analysis for each person: the number of contacts and where exactly these contacts are.
“The economy must continue. We cannot limit work, public transport … If we can limit restaurants, we can achieve results without closing schools. But this is the question: know where our most frequent contacts are. In Germany we know that if we close the schools, the contacts will be reduced to 90% ”, explained Dr. Monev.
He said that 85% of Germans support the measures. Dr. Monev explained to Nova that Chancellor Angela Merkel asked the children to play with only one friend, but was criticized for this statement. The expert stressed that Merkel does not have the power to impose restrictions.
“No, patients should not wait on the stairs,” insisted Dr. Monev of the tragic deaths of patients in Plovdiv.
Dr. Monev explained that it happens in Germany that patients wait for hours. Both PCR and antigen assays are used, but PCR is the main criterion. Triage is carried out at the entrance to the hospital, determining the degree of emergency of the patient.
Due to the long wait for testing, some German companies have installed containers in front of the office where employees are tested – rapid antigen tests.
Dr. Monev’s observations are that even after recovery, patients who contract the coronavirus have health disorders. He noted that there is even evidence of loss of IQ.
