One person died and four were seriously injured in case of incidents in Stara Planina, in the area of the Botev peak, BNR reported. Mountain rescuers from services in Troyan, Lovech and Karlovo were mobilized in rescue operations.
They got up in the zone five incidents, announced the head of the mountain rescue service in Troyan Hristo Slivkov.
“There are 5 incidents today in this area. All forces have mobilizedbecause in the high mountains the weather is cruel. They all have serious injuries, but one is in a particularly dire condition. Four people were injured. One we carried before. All have fallen, slipping due to the understatement of the winter mountain, because it is summer below and winter is above. The snow is small, but it is hard and requires specialized equipment, ”he explained.
In one of the incidents, during the transition from Botev Peak to Dobrila Hut in the Zhaltets Peak area, a tourist slipped and fell 300 meters down the slope. The incident was fatal.
The mountain rescue service in Troyan announced that the body of the deceased will be transported only tomorrow, as they concentrated their efforts on rescuing another group.

The other group of tourists was injured in the area north of Botev Peak. After several hours of rescue operation, at 10 pm, they were taken down from the mountain and carried with many wounds, but without danger of death at Lovech Hospital. Three of them were seriously injured.
From the Mountain Rescue Service in Troyan warns tourists to be careful during your hikes in the mountains, to take into account the weather conditions and your own strength and to be there with the necessary specialized equipment, because it is the lack of specialized equipment that has caused these incidents.
