Denmark announced today that one person had died and another was in serious condition after being vaccinated with AstraZeneca against COVID-19, Reuters reported.
The Danish Medicines Agency has been informed of both cases. Vaccines are given to medical personnel who have been immunized for less than 14 days before feeling unwell. Blood clots and brain hemorrhage have been reported in both. These are the following cases of problems recorded after vaccination with AstraZeneca.
It is due to these post-vaccination side effects that several European countries have stopped using AstraZeneca. “We prioritize reports of suspected serious adverse reactions like these and investigate them thoroughly to determine if there is a possible link to the vaccine,” said the Danish Medicines Agency.
AstraZeneca, which developed the vaccine with the University of Oxford, said there was no evidence that the vaccine increased the risk of blood clots. Vaccine safety is of the utmost importance to us, the company announced. Meanwhile, Ursula von der Leyen has openly threatened AstraZeneca with banning the export of medicines outside the EU.
