This was reported to Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at today’s working meeting, which the Prime Minister convened with representatives of the National Operational Headquarters, the vaccination headquarters and the ministers.
The Minister of Education clarified that the system is ready at any moment to completely switch back to distance education and close gardens and nurseries.
“The improvement is still fragile, we need to analyze the data of a complete work week to make a decision for the other students,” he added.
A lasting effect of the anti-epidemic measures has been achieved and Bulgaria is already 24th in the EU in terms of 14-day morbidity. The trend to increase the number of people cured compared to those newly infected with COVID-19 is also permanent. Vaccination with the first batch of vaccines is proceeding rapidly and is expected to be complete today. The next delivery will be in the week of January 4 to 8 and will be in the amount of 25,000 doses.
“The situation is currently improving. There is no district in Bulgaria with a morbidity of more than 600 per 100,000 inhabitants,” said Health Minister Kostadin Angelov.
The chairman of the National Operations Staff and head of the Military Medical Academy, Ventsislav Mutafchiiski, noted that there is a significant decrease in the number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals, which is a breath of fresh air for medical teams. .
The director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and staff member Todor Kantardzhiev added that an organization has been created for laboratories to continue working at the same pace as before, which will ensure the pace of data submission.
The Minister of Education, Krassimir Valchev, and the director of Pirogov Asen Baltov expressed their support for the opening of kindergartens, kindergartens and schools for students up to the fourth grade. At the same time, they stressed that the situation will be constantly monitored so that in January a decision can be made about the other classes in the schools.
The current measures will remain in effect until January 31 and will be flexible in relation to the current situation.
The president of the Vaccination Headquarters, Krassimir Gigov, confirmed that the vaccination process is going well and that our country is preparing for the next deliveries of the vaccine.
The Executive Director of the Medicines Agency, Bogdan Kirilov, noted that approval from the European Medicines Agency is also awaited regarding the Moderna vaccine.
