German goalkeeper Loris Carius has been loaned to Union Berlin by Liverpool for the 2020-21 season, the English champions have announced. Thus, the point guard returned to his homeland after moving from Mainz 05 to the “Anfield” team.

Thus, Carius will meet another Liverpool striker who is in Union: Taiwo Avoni. The German spent the last two seasons at Turkish Beskitas, for whom he played 67 games during his two-year stay in Istanbul.

Carius has 49 games for the Merseyside team since arriving in the summer of 2016 and has conducted preseason training with the team prior to the start of the 2020/21 season. The player’s contract with Liverpool expires in June 2021.

At the same time, the English grandmaster released another of his reserve guards: Camille Grabara. The Pole will strengthen Danish Aarhus for the season. This is the second loan for the 21-year-old Grabara at the Scandinavian club, for which he has already played 16 games and registered six dry nets in the 2018/19 season. Immediately after his return from Denmark, Grabara signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, then played on loan at Huddersfield Town and recorded 28 games for the team in the Championship.
