October 2020 will be with average temperatures above the norm, since the expected deviation for the western half of the country is approximately one and a half degrees, and in the east the positive anomaly will be approximately 2 degrees. This was announced for “24 Chasa” by the climatologist of the University of Sofia Simeon Matev.

For much of the country, the expected monthly precipitation amount will be around and below the norm. Rainy days will also be below the October average.

One of the warmest days in October in our country was in 1993, when several days in a row at the beginning and the middle of the month the maximum temperatures hovered and exceeded 30 degrees.

The lowest temperatures recorded during the month in most areas are negative, from minus 1 to minus 6 degrees.

The coldest was in Trun and Velingrad – minus 10 degrees, in Razgrad – minus 9, Troyan, Kazanlak and Samokov – minus 8. In Sofia, the lowest temperature in October was reported in 1920 – minus 6.4 degrees, in Plovdiv in 1946 minus 5.7 degrees were measured, and in Pleven in 1920 minus – 7.7 degrees.
