The main referees of Bulgarian football, Volen Chinkov, Nikola Popov and Georgi Kabakov, finally expressed their opinion publicly.
Referees are prohibited from conducting interviews and statements and therefore cannot comment on scandals or situations surrounding their appearances.
Now the three judges spoke with BTV about the introduction of VAR in Bulgaria. Chinkov and Popov agreed that the system would help them in their work, and Kabakov said he knew from experience how difficult it was with VAR.

“We are preparing to play games normally without VAR, and with its introduction we can only help and change only one serious mistake,” said Nikola Popov.
“It is more difficult with the VAR, then you have no right to be wrong and the tension is higher,” added Georgi Kabakov.
