“Bulgarian citizens should rest assured, for the moment there is no need to toughen measures or impose new ones in the fight against coronavirus. We will only continue to exercise control over current measures,” said Health Minister Prof. Kostadin Angelov.

The Coronavirus National Operational Headquarters provided its periodic weekly briefing to the Ministry of Health this morning.

New registry of COVID-19 cases in our country

As of October 7, there were 1,033 cases of hospitalized patients with coronavirus infection, of which 53 were in intensive care units. The number of beds for therapeutic care is 7307. For the treatment of coronavirus, those in need of intensive care have 1108 beds.

Bed occupancy is currently 5% of patients needing intensive care.

To date, the total number of children and students who have tested positive for COVID-19 is 101, 3,268 have been quarantined. The number of teachers positive for the infection is 133, 119 in quarantine. Of all the classes in schools, for every 1000 classes, 3 are in quarantine and do not go to school, said Professor Angelov. .
