The municipal budget has decreased by almost BGN 20 million due to the coronary crisis.

Night public transport in the capital is stopped. The reason is cost optimization due to coronary crisis. The municipality’s budget has been reduced by nearly BGN 20 million, according to the municipality’s transport commission.

Line 306, which serves Mladost 1, is closed forever, but trolleybus line 3 from Nadezhda to St. Anna ”.

The changes are also related to the new metro line, in which passengers participate.

“I am extremely dissatisfied, because in addition to night public transport being stopped until at least 2021, this decision granted an additional 600,000 BGN to a private carrier to serve 1,200 people. On the other hand, it was decided that the bus line would no longer exist although it provided a convenient connection to the many thousands of Mladost 1s, said Boris Bonev, a Save Sofia city councilor.

“The closure of line 306 has caused a lot of controversy. Unfortunately, the data shows that this bus is rarely used. There was a lot of controversy as to why we provide better transportation for the Novi Iskar region, where one of the fellow advisers is obviously at war with the operator. Each proposal in these areas is declared lobbying on duty. What I am pushing is better public transportation. I don’t care who the operator is, ”said Carlos Contrera, president of the Transportation Commission of the Municipality of Sofia, IMRO.
