Paris Saint-Germain megastar Neymar brought success to Brazil when he visited Peru in the 2022 World Cup qualifier. The forward scored a hat-trick for success with 4: 2 and thus surpassed legend Ronaldo in goals marked for the national team.
With the success, “Celesao” collected a total of 6 points and shares the first position of the classification with his eternal rival Argentina. Neymar already has 64 goals in 103 games for Brazil, just ahead of King of Soccer Pelé, who scored 77. Ronaldo remained in third place with 62 goals in 98 games in his 17-year career with the national team.
Neymar is still far from the success of the Phenomenon at the national level, who has become a two-time world champion, but it is with him that the hopes of returning “Selesao” to the top of the world are connected.
The hosts opened the scoring in the fifth minute, when André Carrillo scored a bomb from the edge of the penalty area after shooting a rebound off the foot of a defender on a yellow ball. The result lasted until the 28th minute, when Neymar scored his first goal with a cold and technical penalty kick.
The Peruvians took the lead again after an hour of play, when after a lot of luck after a shot from Tapia, the ball entered the Brazilian door after bouncing off the body of a defender and deceiving the goalkeeper. In the 64th minute, the tie was restored by Richardson.
After a corner, Roberto Firmino was the first to play with the ball, who headed it to the far post, where his teammate simply knocked on the door. In the 83rd minute there was a second penalty for Brazil, and Neymar took responsibility again and made no mistake – 3: 2.
Three minutes later, the hosts were left with one man less after Zambrano was sent off for a blow to the face by a Brazilian footballer. The referee watched the video replays and only then made the difficult decision.
With one more man, the Brazilians reached the fourth goal, and its author was again Neymar, this time from a match. After a quick attack, Everton directed the ball to goal, it bounced off the crossbar, but also Neymar sent it to the net. In their next match, Brazil will face Venezuela, while Peru will face Chile.
