In addition to information television, Nova Broadcasting Group wants to acquire 4 more radios and 2 music televisions.

Nova Broadcasting Group is buying Channel 3 and has already submitted documents for the deal to the Commission for the Protection of Competition, according to CPC’s website.

Together with the television channel, the media company, which owns Nova TV, wants to acquire the radios “Veselina”, “Vitosha”, Magic FM, The Voice and the musical televisions The Voice TV and Magic TV. They are all part of the BSS Media Group, which for several months has owned “Elite Media Bulgaria” EOOD, the company that broadcasts Channel 3. The real owner is Gergana Stefanova Danova, writes the Channel 3 website.

Information television, known for its live broadcasts of major events, is licensed to broadcast in Sofia, and in the rest of the country it is broadcast by cable. Since September 1, 2017, the channel has broadcast in HD format.

According to acquaintances, the deal will probably go through the CPC, since Channel 3’s market share was around 3%, that is. small enough to prevent Nova Broadcasting Group from gaining market dominance over the law.

Just 10 days ago, Nova Broadcasting Group officially acquired 100% of the online group Net Info. Until then, the television company owned 70% of the group of sites.

The deal for the remaining 30% was approved by the CPC in February. It has now been finalized after price negotiations with the previous owners, Radosvet Radev’s “Darik Radio” and Hristo Hristov’s “Web Finance”, have ended.

Net Info is the largest online group in Bulgaria, with several sites in its portfolio, as well as the video content platform Vbox7.

History

Channel 3 was established in 1993, when it began broadcasting a show on the Sofia Cable network. Until 1998 it was called “Sofia Cable”.

In 2013 it was bought by Media Investment Organization AD, in which the main block of shares belongs to Maria Oprenova (wife of businessman Lyubomir Minchev), and one share is owned by Kevork Marashlyan.

In 2019, the television became the property of Iva Stoyanova, until then its manager and program director, who owns 90% of it, and the remaining 10% belongs to Ognyan Dimov. A few months later, Stoyanova became a manager of the Nova Broadcasting Group.
