Inflation has also raised the wages of those in power. 4,803 BGN is already the minimum salary of a deputy since September, since the increase compared to June is 500 BGN, it is clear from INE data on average wages.

The compensation of the deputies is equal to three times the average of the state administration for the last month of each quarter, which for September is BGN 1,601, but the deputies also receive 15% for participation in a commission, which is applied to each from them. They also have a 1% supplement for each year of service. Therefore, for a MP with 20 years of experience, like most MPs, the salary is almost BGN 6,500, calculates “24 Chasa”.

The highest salary among statesmen is taken by the president. With the seniority bonus, Rumen Radev’s salary exceeds 15 thousand.

The head of parliament Tsveta Karayancheva and Prime Minister Boyko Borisov receive 50% more than deputies, or BGN 7,204. With the time-of-service allowance, Borisov’s monthly salary rises to more than BGN 10,000.

The ministers will now receive about BGN 6,245.

The country’s average salary for September is BGN 1,397, an increase of BGN 62 compared to August, while the total for the quarter is BGN 1,373 and increases by 9.9 percent annually.

The highest salaries are maintained in the information technology sector, an average of BGN 3,208, and in financial and insurance activities, BGN 2,106.

It turns out that the largest increase in wages occurs in the sectors most affected by the coronary crisis. In restaurants and hotels, salaries have increased by 37.6%, from BGN 647 to BGN 890. The explanation is that July, August and September of this year were the strongest for tourism, but those who work there still have the lowest wages in the country. Those in the culture, sports and entertainment sector increased by 14.9 per cent to BGN 1,135 and by 16.2 per cent in the general government sector.

A curious fact is that the salaries of the public sector are higher than those of the private sector.
