They allocate new funds for front-line doctors. They amount to a total of BGN 80 million. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, in a joint briefing with the Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova.

They are in the following areas: For pre-hospital care to strengthen the capacity of general practitioners, an additional 5 million BGN per month and 1,000 BGN per physician are allocated.

“We understand that the efforts of doctors are increasing and the pressure is increasing every day. One in three people who are tested positive,” added Professor Angelov.

Additional COVID departments will be opened in some of the DCCs in Sofia and in larger cities. This makes around 3 million BGN per month. The team working there will receive 1,000 BGN per person per month.

An additional BGN 50 million is allocated to centers that work with students. Means for antigenic testing will also be provided. They are worth BGN 15 million.

“Every day the number of hospitalized increases. Only today there are 1257 infected in Sofia, of which 141 are for intensive care. The pressure on hospitals is increasing. I hope that by the weekend the first DCCs that have created COVID will be included necessary It is clear that people must be motivated. Therefore, these additional funds will be provided for those who work in these areas, as well as for the provision of free tests. I hope this reduces the pressure on hospitals, “said Yordanka Fandakova. .

Again he called on everyone to follow the measures. “We have tightened control as much as possible. More and more people are following the measures. Everyone should know that the ability of the entire city to deal with the problem depends on it.”

“The system was loading, there was discontent among the people. From tomorrow things will improve. I sincerely hope that the problem of bed shortage will be eliminated. I have been working in the Emergency Department since 1994. There have never been 500 addresses for the night and more than 300 for the night. Unfortunately, we have reached such figures, ”said the director of the Emergency Department, Dr. Gelev.

The Health Minister stressed that it is not necessary for healthy people to undergo antigen tests. According to him, this is a burden on the system. During the last 24 hours, 285 people have passed in front of the van for quick tests. According to the researchers, 2/3 are positive, not counting the inaccurate tests.

“Most of those who left have no symptoms. It does not make sense to do so. In the absence of symptoms, antigen tests are usually negative. There is no point in making us fear, the system is ready,” stressed Professor Angelov.

He stated categorically that not everyone needs Remdesivir. The drug is prescribed for a certain therapy and if someone is not included in such therapy, it means they do not need it, said the health minister.

Regarding the cases of patients who were not admitted to hospitals on time, Professor Angelov explained that all signals are verified to the Ministry of Health. He himself described these cases as unacceptable.

“Every signal and action of colleagues somewhere stains the whole system. I want to emphasize that our system works and that our doctors, nurses and nurses are worthy of respect. Yes, our system has not been reformed. We all know” A system not reformed it works hard, but it works well. Everyone sees what the numbers are and where we are in Europe, we are at the level of quite developed and modern countries. We don’t believe the feeling that our system is bad, “he urged.

It was clear from the briefing that a mechanism for education has been developed, which will be proposed in the coming days. According to Fandakova, this mechanism will be introduced in case of intensive and prolonged growth of patients.
