Lewis Hamilton won the Eiffel Grand Prix and recorded his 91st victory in his Formula 1 career. Thus, the Stevenage-born driver equaled the legendary Michael Schumacher in number of successes on the sports track, entering a special column. At the Nurburgring, Max Verstappen finished second, improving to this position after the elimination of the second “silver arrows” driver Valteri Botas. However, in the last corner, Verstappen took the extra point for the fastest lap.

By the way, 14 years after Michael’s last victory in China, Hamilton joined the greatness of the German.

The nightmare performances of Scuderia Ferrari seemed to make sense, with Charles Löckler losing three positions from his starting position and finishing seventh, while Sebastian Vettel finished 11th.

Daniel Ricciardo finished in third place, delivering the first podium of the season for Renault.

Valteri Botas started from the first position, who won the classification yesterday, beating his teammate Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull driver Max Ferstappen, who finished third. The top three were followed by Charles Löckler (Monaco) with Ferrai, Red Bull’s Alexander Albon (Thailand) and Daniel Ricardo (Australia) with Renault. Esteban Ocon (France) with Renault, Lando Norris (Great Britain) with McLaren, Sergio Pérez (Mexico) with Racing Point and Carlos Sainz (Spain) with McLaren’s second car round out the top 10 at the start. Sebastian Vettel (Germany) will start from 11th position with the second Ferrari car.

The race will be more special for Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Raikkonen as it will be his 323rd race in Formula 1. An absolute record!

Immediately after the start, Hamilton and Boots got tired in the first corner, as the Briton started cleaner, but his partner managed to maintain his first position, although he was overtaken by seconds.

Charles Löckler also tried to surprise Ferstappen, who, however, kept Monegasque behind him. Alex Alban lost his fifth position to Daniel Ricciardo, who finished fourth. Okon also lost position to Pérez and Norris and is now ninth.

At the end of the third lap, Loeckler was four seconds behind Ferstappen. Ricardo is very close to the Ferrari driver and can try to attack him.

On lap five, Boots is 1.6 seconds ahead of Hamilton. Ferstappen is 1.5 seconds behind the world champion.

In the following rounds, Ricciardo tried to attack Leclerc, but the Monegasque held his position, but was under enormous pressure from the Australian. The logical thing happened and on the ninth lap Loeckler went ahead.

Two rounds later, it entered the box of new medium tires. On the same lap, Sebastian Vettel turned in the first corner, but somehow avoided the barriers and returned to the track.

As out of nowhere, Lewis Hamilton managed to overtake Valteri Botas on lap 12. The Finn was unable to turn around on turn # 1 and this allowed the Brit to get very close and jump over him from the outside in the second turn. Immediately after the mistake and the loss of the lead, Valteri went through the area to change tires.

In the 14th round, Raikkonen and Russell collided, leading to the elimination of the young Williams driver. Today’s record holder received a 10 second penalty.

On lap 17, Alban and Quiat collided, resulting in a broken front wing for the Russian driver.

Two rounds later, Boots complained of a lack of power and a lap later he finally had to retire.

Towards lap 20, after entering the pits, Hamilton leads by 2.5 seconds ahead of Ferstappen, and Norris is third. Leclerc is tenth and Vettel is fourteenth.

Five rounds later, there have already been four dropouts; In addition to Russell and Boots, they were joined by Eseteban Okon and Alex Alban. Lando Norris’s car was not going well either and Sergio Pérez was catching up quickly.

Lando Norris from Mercedes gave up and had to get into Eiffel’s Grand Prix safety car. Lando was sixth after his car crashed and stopped between Turns 6 and 7. When the car entered security, Daniel Ricciardo was the first to pit, followed by Hamilton and Verstappen. The Briton opened an 11-second lead over the Dutchman, fighting for a victory in 91 in his career.

On lap 51, Pierre Gasley successfully attacked Leclerc and the Alpha Tauri driver was already sixth. Behind Charles was Nico Hulkenberg, who is once again having a fantastic career as a reserve driver for Racing Point.
