On December 12, the MRF National Conference will elect its president and members of the MRF Central Council, which is the party’s permanent decision-making body between congresses, the party said.
At its previous IX National Election and Reporting Conference in 2016, the MRF elected Mustafa Karadayi as its leader. Delegates to the 10th National Assembly have nominated Mustafa Karadayi for a second term.
This year, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms celebrated 30 years since its inception: the MRF was established on January 4, 1990, and the first national conference was held on March 26, 1990. Ahmed Dogan was elected president, which continues being the honorary president of the MRF.
Among the official guests invited to the MRF National Conference on Reports and Elections are the leaders of the European and world liberals: Hakima el Haite, president of the Liberal International, Hans van Baalen, president of the ALDE Party, Roman Jakic, president of the Liberal Network of Southeast Europe (LIBSEEN), Rick Dames, President of PACE, Member of the Senate of the Kingdom of Belgium, Jacques Merr, President of the ALDE Group in PACE, Member of the National Parliament of the French Republic, Sean Ockerney, Secretary General of the Renew Europe Group in the Committee of the Regions, Sir Graham Watson, President of the ALDE Party (2011-2015), President of the ALDE Group in the EP (2002-2009). Also invited – Recep Tayyip Erdogan – President of Turkey and Chairman of the Justice and Development Party – AK Party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu – Chairman of the People’s Republican Party (CHP), Devlet Bahceli – Chairman of the Nationalist Action Party (MHP), Meral Aksener – Chairman of the Good Party (IYI parti), the ambassadors of all the EU member states, NATO, the diplomats of the permanent representatives to the UN Security Council, the ambassadors of the Balkan countries.
