65,675 citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia have acquired Bulgarian citizenship by decree of the Vice President during the last 10 years. These data were presented to the deputies in Parliament by the Minister of Justice Desislava Akhladova during a question during the parliamentary control.
From January 1, 2010, to October 22, this year, a total of 77,829 applications were submitted to Macedonians for Bulgarian citizenship.
During the last 10 years, our country has issued the highest number of passports to residents of our neighbor in 2010 – 11,724, and the least were issued in 2013 – 2,171.
In 2020, 6,712 Macedonians received Bulgarian citizenship, Ahladova said.
