Equipped with all the necessary protective gear such as masks, gloves and disinfectants, Santa and his team of reindeer travel from Lapland and are expected to arrive in Bulgaria tonight. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to official sources, as a representative of one of the risk groups, the old man with the white beard has already been vaccinated and is willing to make all children and adults happy with gifts on Christmas Eve. Although some of the restrictions on entry and mandatory quarantine do not apply to him, he and the deer are still required to wear protective masks when this has been introduced as a measure.

WHO: COVID-19 Pandemic Won’t Stop Santa From Delivering Gifts

However, this is not the case if someone other than Santa Claus decides to travel around the world from Bulgaria.

There are 4 EU countries where no restrictions have been introduced for Bulgarian citizens: Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Luxembourg. Travelers to France must complete a declaration of freedom from symptoms.

We must present a negative PCR test if we want to visit: Belgium, Slovakia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Malta and Spain.

We will be placed in mandatory quarantine if we travel to: Latvia and Germany (10 days), Romania, Estonia and Ireland (14 days). In Austria, there is also a 10-day self-isolation requirement, but after the fifth day, the citizen could get rid of it with a negative PCR test. In the Netherlands, quarantine is recommended and is 10 days.

The countries that have introduced stricter measures when entering their territory are Greece and Italy, which require both a negative PCR test and impose self-isolation on those who arrive in the country.

In Hungary, Finland, Denmark and Cyprus there are additional requirements without which you will not be admitted to the country, such as having a permanent address or traveling for treatment or training. It’s good for Santa to visit us as we obviously can’t visit him in Lapland.

Traveling outside the European Union is not very easy and without requirements. If you have decided to go to Turkey, it is important to know that there are no restrictions for Bulgarian citizens to cross the border, but the measures introduced in the country are very strict, even for tourists, such as at night, with closed masks and shops.

Fans of more exotic destinations, such as the island of Mauritius, must undergo a PCR test and, upon arrival, will be placed in mandatory quarantine. In the Comoros and the United Arab Emirates, you will be exempt from quarantine, but you will still need to have a negative PCR result, as well as a complete health statement.

We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns in the conditions of a coronavirus pandemic not to travel, or if you travel, it must be only for urgent reasons.

With all these restrictive measures, it’s best to stay home, not travel, and wait for Santa to do the work! You can find more information about your route here: https://www.noradsanta.org/overlay/tracking/map/index.html.
